TEACHING
Kayla is a singer, songwriter, and educator based in Brooklyn.
Having received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Miami and her Masters of Music in Jazz Performance from New England Conservatory of Music, Kayla has developed a wide breadth of knowledge that allows her to provide incisive guidance for students looking to explore songwriting, music theory, and instrument instruction. With over 8 years of teaching experience, she has developed a unique, hands on, play-based approach that keeps lessons fun, fast-paced, and energetic. Kayla works hard to tailor lessons to each individual student, helping them foster a joy of music-making in whichever way resonates with them the most.
Kayla teaches in-home and virtual piano (beginner-intermediate), ukulele (beginner-intermediate), guitar (beginner-intermediate), and voice (beginner-advanced) lessons to students 4 years old and up, as well as general music exploration and appreciation classes to groups of babies and toddlers. She also teaches out of her home studio in South Slope, Brooklyn for students looking for lessons outside of the home.
